Does Evangelion have 3 endings?

For being one of the most iconic and influential anime series of all time, Neon Genesis Evangelion is also one of the most confusing; as of the franchise's most recent film, released on Amazon Prime earlier this month, the series has officially ended four times.

Shinji finally understands his feelings and realizes he's the one who can literally save the planet, as well as the universe. He does this by confronting his father and becoming at peace with him. Then he does the same with all the other key characters: Rei, Asuka and Kaworu.

But, as there is no end to mental illness, for Anno, there is no true ending for Neon Genesis Evangelion. The original ending of the show illustrates that despite the suffering of existence, it is better than feeling nothing at all.

There are two alternate endings for Evangelion. This posits that the events of TV episodes 25 and 26 and End of Eva present two possible endings for the story.

The DSS Choker (DSSチョーカー) is a device installed by Wille around Shinji's neck after his recovery from Eva-01. It is designed to explode and kill the wearer, and is intended to be used in the event that the wearer becomes a trigger for an Impact. DSS stands for Deification Shutdown System.

In the original anime, Shinji does not end up in a relationship with anyone. However, in the latest Neon Genesis Evangelion films, Shinji ends up with a new character, Mari.

Because their moms' souls are what makes the EVA alive. And the EVA activates when the child (pilot) is placed inside the womb (entry plug). Since the background story is the same for the rebuild movies, we can assume this is unchanged for rebuild.

Each EVA also contains a human soul: always the soul of the pilot's mother. Shinji's mother Yui died during the Contact Experiment, and her soul was fused into the body of the fleshy prototype Unit-01 when her body was destroyed.

Asuka is biologically twenty-eight years old, but has not physically aged thanks to what she calls the "curse of Eva"; she is also wearing an eyepatch that glows blue. Asuka, again supported by Mari, confronts Shinji and his co-pilot Kaworu Nagisa and eventually self-destructs her Eva during the fight.

The ending of The End of Evangelion (the movie) is what's actually happening. Both TV show and End of Evangelion are canon as they're happening at the same time from different points of view. The same events happen, EoE shows you visually what's happening, and TV goes in depth with the events occurring in EoE.

Does Shinji end up with Asuka?

In the final scene of the the film, Asuka and Shinji are alone in the post-apocalyptic wasteland. For unknown reasons, Shinji strangles her, but stops when she strokes his cheek. Their relationship is left on an inconclusive note.

Since everyone became one, there were no secrets to be hidden. The reason why Asuka said "disgusting" because while they were one, she found out and knew what he did to her unconscious body. Because of that, the first thing she said when she saw him was "disgusting".

Thrice Upon A Time had a tremendous amount of pressure on its ending since fans were waiting for over a decade for its conclusion. Thrice Upon A Time is far from a simple movie, but it does allow Shinji to receive a happy ending and find peace in the universe away from Evangelions.

The word Evangelion does not have gender. We could call the Eva's "she"'s as they have both "female" souls and are most likely female in sex. We could also call them "it"'s in the same way as one might call any animal an "it", even if its sex was known.

Shinji is a lonely kid, and he immediately displays symptoms of depression and anxiety.

The two songs usually played on Shinji's SDAT are: Track 25 for "You are the only one" and Track 26 for "Blue Legend", respectively. The songs are from "Lilia from Ys", an image album for the "Ys" RPG series. The Vocalist is Kotono Mitsuishi, Misato's seiyu.

Following the failed activation test of Unit-03, and its abandonment and re-classification as the 13th Angel, Shinji is sortied to defeat it alongside Rei and Asuka. Even after Rei and Asuka are dispatched by the unit, Shinji still shows reluctance to fight it, claiming that he'd rather die than kill the pilot inside.

5/10 Kaworu And Shinji's Love Was Too Good To Last

Shinji's relationship with Kaworu Nagisa is the shortest and sweetest in Evangelion, but it had ruinous consequences. The two meet in Episode 24, "The Final Messenger," and it's love at first sight.

Shinji realizes that he created an isolated, empty world for himself where no one can hurt him anymore.

Who is Shinji's boyfriend?

Despite the short time spent together, Kaworu and Shinji are interested in each other and build a relationship based on mutual appreciation. He is the first person to tell Shinji he likes him and the first person that Shinji opens his heart to.

Evangelion Unit-02 is one of the most powerful Evangelions. From its first appearance, it becomes Unit-01's equal in terms of power. In one of the most awesome mecha fights ever animated in End of Evangelion, Unit-02 holds off the entire Japanese military and nine separate Evangelions.

Asuka is somewhat attracted to Shinji Ikari, although the Asuka-Shinji relationship is less of a straight romantic relationship and more the deconstruction of one.

Rei Ayanami (Japanese: 綾波 レイ, Hepburn: Ayanami Rei) is a fictional character from the anime Neon Genesis Evangelion, created by Gainax. She is the First Child and pilot of a giant mecha named Evangelion Unit 00. At the beginning of the series, Rei is an enigmatic figure whose unusual behavior astonishes her peers.

Unit 01 has taken down foes much larger than itself, but between such an immense scope and Eva Unit 01's limited time it can remain active, we're pretty sure Devil Gundam has that one.

Since all of the footage in each version of Death & Rebirth is contained in the show or End of Evangelion, there's really no need to watch it in 2021. You may as well skip to its use in the next installment of the franchise.

EVA units are also (nearly) sentient. They have minds of their own to a certain degree. Since they are sentient, they are living creatures and not mechanical like any other mecha. Despite being nearly sentient, they are controlled by brainwaves rather than computer controls.

Shinji and Rei are biologically half-siblings since they share their mother (with a different biological father), and while Gendo has no biological relationship with Rei, she's his step-daughter since she's his wife's daughter.

Strangely, it's the character that's new to the rebuild series that Shinji ends up with at the conclusion of the new cinematic version of Evangelion: Mari Makinami.

In Episode 23, Rei sacrifices herself to save Shinji, realizing she has feelings for him. Distraught over her loss, Shinji is overjoyed to find out she is still alive, but she has no memories of her recent past.

Misato's father died to save her, and this sacrifice and loss informs much of her lifestyle and actions for the remainder of her life. Ritsuko, on the other hand, sees her mother's suicide as a selfish act, a petty attempt at self-redemption after what she did to Rei I and realizing that she had been cast aside.

Seeing her asleep, Shinji stares stunned at her for a moment before trying to kiss her, only to then be interrupted by Asuka crying and calling for her mother. The obvious purpose of the scene is to express Shinji's attraction for her and to hint at Asuka's loneliness.

Asuka, if you recall at the end of End of Evangelion, had her eye stabbed through by Synchronisation magic.

Shinji Ikari (碇 シンジ, Ikari Shinji) is a 14 year old human high school student with Asperger's Syndrome. Shinji has difficulties with speaking and acting appropriately around others and is very sensitive to criticism of his behaviour.

In a flashback to Shikinami's childhood during Instrumentality, it is revealed that she is a clone, with neither father nor mother, one amidst hundreds of copies.

Because it show a representation of the Apocalypse so beautiful as to be desirable. The Third Impact happening in the feature film “The End of Evangelion”, is a final climax of incredible aesthetic beauty, but also one of the most ambitious and satisfying endings I've ever seen in an anime.

Neon Genesis Evangelion essentially has two endings, both of which are now available on Netflix: the end of the TV series (specifically episodes 25 and 26), which originally aired in early 1996; and the film The End of Evangelion, which was released in 1997.

The changes between the original proposal and the actual second half of the Evangelion TV series were the result of a combination of Anno dealing with his depression and Gainax running into budgetary problems. Both factors of Anno's self-therapy and Gainax's limited animation peaked with the final two episodes.

As such, clashing with him on a regular basis causes Asuka to shift onto Shinji part of the hatred she feels for herself. To put it in simpler terms: she hates Shinji because she hates herself. The moment she will succeed to accept herself for how she is, she will also finally manage to truly love and accept Shinji.

Shinji then gets a brief glimpse at Quantum Rei, and is surprised to find Asuka by his side. He chokes her, she caresses him, he stops.

At the center of the story is our main character, Shinji Ikari, a young boy who struggles with depression and anxiety. Much of his internal conflict stems from his father, who abandoned him when he was a young child.

Misato loves Shinji, (in Episode 16 she sobs with relief and hugs him when he returns to reality), but she also doesn't have much patience for his moods. Their final scene in The End Of Evangelion is one of the most beautiful in the film.

Evangelion has a reputation as a notably depressing anime, but there are a number of mecha series that wallow in comparable levels of nihilism.
