Who was the killer of Ricky from Boyz n the Hood?
Lloyd Avery made his acting debut at the age of 22 in John Singleton's Oscar-nominated debut film Boyz N the Hood (1991). He played the role of Knucklehead #2 but is infamously known as the Blood, who shot one of the movie's protagonists, Ricky.
However, Avery, who later emerged as a devoute Christian nicknamed Baby Jesus while in prison, was strangled to death at the age of 36 by a cellmate named Kevin Roby, aka Satannic Christ, in September 2005 while serving his life sentence.
Later, as the gang drive around the city, Tre asks to be let out of the car and returns home. Doughboy finds the Bloods at a fast-food restaurant. Monster guns the Bloods down as they flee. Doughboy gets out of his car and shoots Ferris and another wounded gang member dead, avenging Ricky's death.
Ferris is the main antagonist from the crime film, Boyz n the Hood. He is an OG of the Crenshaw Mafia Gangsters, and a leader of a small group, who are also responsible for the murder of Ricky Baker (caused by Ferris' Triggerman, Ricky's Killer, or Knucklehead #2), the younger brother of Darrin "Doughboy" Baker.
Avery's official cause of death is listed as cardiorespiratory arrest — which basically means his heart stopped. Avery passed away in a Glendale, CA hospital about 7 weeks after undergoing bypass surgery.
Ultimately, Avery settled the lawsuit for $400,000. He needed money to hire attorneys Jerry Buting and Dean Strang to mount a vigorous murder defense. Avery was imprisoned from 1985 to 2003 for a rape and brutal beating he did not commit.

Why did Doughboy mom hate him?
I Have No Son!: Doughboy is effectively disowned by his mother after Ricky is murdered, as she accuses him of killing his brother, perhaps considering they had gotten into some fisticuffs beforehand.
Doughboys actually preferred refurbished trench shoes as the stiff leather was already soften up and easier on their feet. The practice of carrying extra shoes was both common and authorized. It was also common for the doughboy to wear or carry extra trench boots supplied by the French or British.
In April 2002, the Wisconsin Innocence Project had hairs tested from the crime scene. DNA from the hairs belonged to Gregory Allen, a felon who resembled Avery and was already serving a 60-year sentence for another sexual assault. Avery was exonerated and released from prison in September 2003.
In 2003, after 18 years in prison, Avery walked free. But Avery was again sentenced to prison — this time for life without the possibility of parole — after a jury found him guilty on March 18, 2005, following a six-week trial.

Chris was initially portrayed as a decent man, but was left permanently resentful of his life after a plane crash in 1993 left him paralyzed from the waist down. The character then became much more jaded and bitter, often using his intelligence and assets to exact revenge on those he perceived to have hurt him.
What is the message of Boyz n the Hood?
Ostensibly the story of three friends, Tre, Ricky and Doughboy, growing up in South-Central Los Angeles, it showed how white supremacy set the conditions that ended in neighborhoods devastated by crime and, ultimately, violence.
The sentence was controversial because Tate was 12 years old at the time of the murder, and his victim was 6. He was the youngest person in modern US history to be sentenced to life imprisonment, bringing broad criticism on the treatment of juvenile offenders in the justice system of the state of Florida.
